Obituary of Doreen Elizabeth Smith

The death of Doreen Smith of Saint John, beloved partner of Bill Dawson occurred on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on January 1, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Stevens) Mitchell. Doreen is survived by her daughters, Tina Moorcroft (Donnie) of Temperance Vale and Samantha Liston of Fredericton; sisters, Dorothy, Judy, Betty, Diane, Jeanette and Joan; brothers, Billy, Sam, Allan, Danny, Bobby and Harold; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Stacy Liston, first husband, Darryll Liston; second husband, Garyl Smith; sisters, Marlene and Margaret; as well as brothers, Malcolm and Wayne. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, July 22 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, which will be immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM, all from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Barony Cemetery, Dumfries on Wednesday, July 23, at 1:00 PM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
