Obituary of Judy L. Olsen
It is with deepest sadness and regret that we inform you of the passing of Judy Letitia (Harding) Olsen. Judy’s passing occurred peacefully on June 2nd, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born November 23rd, 1949 in Saint John, NB, Judy was a daughter of the late Ronald Harding of Saint John, NB and Muriel (Kennie) Harding of Saint John, NB. Judy was raised, lived, worked and raised her children in East Saint John. Judy graduated from Simonds High School in 1968. She went on to a 40-plus year career with the Saint John Diocesan Cemeteries. During her career, Judy also found time to raise a family of four children and in her later years played an instrumental part in raising her daughter’s two children. She also enjoyed visits from her other grandchildren whenever they were able to visit. Judy is survived by her sons: Doug Olsen (Jill) of Saint John, NB and John Olsen (Lori) of Summerville, NB; her daughter, Heather Olsen of Saint John, NB; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Olsen (Darryl); her grandsons: Corey Olsen, Patrick Olsen, Zachary Olsen, Erik Olsen, Matthew Olsen, Kurtis Olsen, Adam Olsen and Jalen Olsen; her granddaughter, Allison Olsen; her sister, Cathy Gaudette of Toronto, ON; her niece, Tiffany Gaudette-Cina and numerous cousins. Along with her parents, Judy was predeceased by her son Darryl Olsen (Brenda) of Saint John, NB; her children’s father Harold Olsen of Saint John; and her stepmother Elinor (Parlee) Harding. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, June 5th, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to SJRH - Palliative Care Unit or the Community Autism Centre would be appreciated by the family.
