Obituary of Evelyn May Northrup
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Evelyn May (Lawrence) Northup at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, May 18, 2015. Born in Springfield, NB, on May 3, 1953, she was a daughter of Ethel (Morrell) Northrup and the late Lawrence Northup. Evelyn enjoyed crafts, especially quilting, and was an avid volunteer with mental health in Sussex for years, earning several recognitions for the hours she put into her volunteer work. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she loved to spend time with them. In addition to her mother, Ethel, Evelyn is survived by her three daughters: Carla Bernatchez (Roland), Noreen Wisted (Jim), and Eileen Bernatchez (Richard); grandchildren: Roland, Damian, Christina, Bradley, Elizabeth, and Jessica; great-grandchild, Ciara, plus one on the way; sisters: Sharon Boyd (George) and Irene Mott (Russell); brother, Clarence Northrup (Grace); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her father, Lawrence, Evelyn was predeceased by her granddaughter, Emma; and her brother, Arthur. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 12 noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 10 am in Shannon Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the New Brunswick Lung Association or Shannon Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
