Obituary of George Guy Gallant
It is with great sadness the family of George Guy Gallant, of Saint John, announce his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 26, 2014. George was born in Saint John on June 22, 1943 a son of the late William and Catherine (LeBlanc) Gallant. George loved harness racing; he travelled in the US on the Grand Circuit, drove Comte Richelieu to EPR track record and won a heat of Gold Cup and Saucer. He also worked for the Jim Doherty Stable developing world class horses. George co-owned Port City Developments, with the late Frank Gilbride, working on construction projects. George is survived by his son Anthony and his daughter Rachelle; two grandchildren: Sylvio and Caleb; one brother Gerard; two sisters: Bernice (Francis) Goguen and Rhona Goguen; special friends: Dee, Paul, Malcolm and Nick. By George’s request there will be no funeral services; however, friends and relatives are welcome to visit on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
