Obituary of Rosanne Mary Akey
The death of Rosanne Akey of Saint John, beloved wife of Ervin Akey occurred on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on December 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (McGowan) Davey. Prior to her retirement, Rosanne was employed in office administration at various locations throughout the city. In her younger years, she loved to travel and enjoyed bowling. Rosanne always looked forward to the road trips with Ervin and together they explored many unique areas. She will be sadly missed. In addition to her husband, Rosanne is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Davey of Saint John; nephews, Mark, Michael and Darren Davey, all of Saint John; as well as two great-nieces and three great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward D. Davey. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
