Obituary of Helen Marie Burchill
With her family at her side the death of Helen Burchill, wife of Gerard Burchill occurred at the Loch Lomond Village on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. She was born on August 8, 1931 at Grand Manan, NB to the late Earl and Pearl (Benson) Wilcox. Helen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother she devoted her life to her family. She was a member of St. Joachim’s Church. Besides Gerard, her husband of over 59 years, Helen is survived by her daughter, Brenda Poirier (Romeo) of Saint John; sons: Eric (Ann Marie) and Charles (Nancy) of Saint John; brother, Earl Wilcox (Judy) of Oromocto; sisters, Genesther Hovey (Ward) of Willow Grove and Louise Stevens of St. George; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Lawrence and infant siblings, Carlton and Mildred. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Church, 603 Loch Lomond Road on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Loch Lomond Village Music Therapy Program would be appreciated by the family.
