Obituary of Norma Elizabeth Wilson
The peaceful passing of Norma Elizabeth Wilson (Mahaney) occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 10, 2015. Born in Saint John, NB on September 24, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Marion Mahaney (Coles) and loving wife to Lawrence Gerald Wilson. Norma graduated from Vocational School in 1963 and attained a diploma in Business Administration and Stenography; she worked at Manchester/Robertson/Allison (MRA’s), various Law Firms, Doctor’s offices and National Drug and Chemical. She was an established writer and had many articles short stories manuscripts, poems, songs etc. published in various books, newspapers, magazines throughout the world. She wrote songs for the World Chess Festival, Irish Society and other local and International organizations. She loved the outdoors and had many interests, including: prospecting, rock hounding, beachcombing, hiking, photography, woodcarving, art, etc. She also enjoyed playing the fiddle. In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by her son Kirk, daughter Kelley (Rouselle), grandson Andrew, sister Frances Levesque and various nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Marilyn Rodgerson, grandparents and various Aunts and Uncles. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Keeping with Norma’s wishes there will be no visitation and a private graveside service for the immediate family will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. If you are considering making a donation in her memory, the family has recommended the SPCA Animal Rescue League - Saint John. A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of 4C North of the Saint John Regional Hospital.
