Obituary of Mary Agnes Bree
Mary "Agnes" Bree of Saint John passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Loch Lomond Village, following a period of failing health. Born in Saint John on January 26, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Robert James and Mary (Marr) Bree. Aggie, as she was affectionately known, worked as a caregiver at several places during her lifetime. She collected porcelain dolls, was an avid shopper, and enjoyed holiday decorating. Those who knew Aggie always said she was "born an angel" because of the compassionate care she offered; she always put others before herself. Aggie is survived by her sisters, Sally Gulley (Silas) of California, Christina Douglas of Saint John, Barbara Edison (Richard) of Cambridge Narrows, Loretta Mitchell of Ontario, and Lillian Foreman of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Tina Lamb. Aggie was predeceased by a sister, Audrey Bacon. In keeping with Aggie’s wishes, a private graveside service will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
