Obituary of Margaret Helena Murray
The death of Margaret Murray of Moncton and formerly of Saint John, wife of the late William "Bill" Murray occurred on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Melrose on October 18, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Sweeney) Noonan. Prior to her retirement at age 65, Margaret was employed as a nurse in the pediatrics department of St. Joseph’s Hospital. Upon her husband’s death in 1957, she devoted her life to caring for her young family and will always be remembered as a hardworking and dedicated mother. Margaret is survived by her son, William "Bill" Murray of Vancouver; daughters, Suzanne "Sue" Read of Moncton, Linda Costello of Rothesay and Catherine "Cathy" Watson of Nova Scotia; brother, John Noonan of Melrose, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Cassidy and sisters, Mary Delahunt and Kathleen Delahunt. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, September 30 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. John the Baptist Church, 54 Broad Street, Saint John, on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
