Obituary of Ida Marina McLaughlin
Surrounded by her loving family, Ida McLaughlin, wife of the late Basil McLaughlin, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at her residence in Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born February 27, 1935 in Honeydale, NB, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Florence (Scott) McLaughlin. Ida was an avid bingo player and loved to knit. She was very outgoing and friendly and will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. Ida is survived by her sons: Dale (Janet), Mark, and Allison; daughters: Helena Goodine (Sanford), Patricia Comeau (Robert), Wanda Childs, and Audrey Doiron (Richard); 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sons: Larry, Jeffrey, and Roger; son-in-law, Danny Childs; and brothers: Gordon, Elton, and Andrew. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2pm in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel McKillop officiating. Interment will take place in Moores Mills Cemetery in Spring 2015. For those who wish, remembrances to Parkinson Society Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
