Obituary of Barbara Ann McIllwraith
It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Ann McIllwraith of Saint John, wife of the late Ronald Roy McIllwraith announces her passing, which occurred on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on April 16, 1941, she was a daughter of the late William Frances and Mary Pearl Babineau. Barb retired after being a long time cashier with the closing of the IGA. She was a long standing member of the Jarvis Bay Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary. Barb loved Bingo and reading. Barb is survived by her daughter, Kimberley (Regent) St. Pierre; her sons, Ronald (Dorothy), Stephen and Jon (Serena); 2 brothers, Ronald (Elaine) and Stephen (Mary Dawn); 3 sisters, Valerie (Dominic) Scichilone, Nanette (Mark) Dunham and Bonnie (Robert) Allen; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, William and Donnie and her sister, April Hovey. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a Legion Tribute at 2:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church, 201 Bayside Drive, on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 12:00 Noon. A reception will immediately follow the Mass at the Jarvis Bay Legion, 1016 Bayside Drive. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
