Obituary of Lillian Pearl Goldstein
In her 100th year, the death of Lillian Goldstein, wife of the late Samuel Goldstein occurred at the St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home on Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was born on December 28, 1913 in Saint John to the late Nathan and Mary (Haines) Meltzer. Lillian worked as a registered nurse for many years in the Saint John General Hospital and then the Saint John Regional Hospital from where she retired in 1987 at the age of 75. She was a member of Westfield Golf and Country Club and a member of the YMCA. She is survived by her children: Miriam Reder (Robert) of Calgary, AB and Arthur Goldstein of Thailand; grandchildren: Jonathan (Angela) and Marc Reder and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers: Mendle, Isadore and William; sister, Dianna Abramsky and a special cousin, Garfield Meltzer. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place in Shaarei Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
