Obituary of Joan Gladys Doyle
Surrounded by her family the death of Joan Doyle, wife of the late Stephen Doyle occurred on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Bobby's Hospice. She was born on February 19, 1936 in Fredericton, to the late Donald and Kathleen McMinniman. Joan was a long time member of the Friday Night Mixed Bowling League. She was a member of the Hampton Curling Club and a previous member of Rockwood Park Golf Club. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to the family reunions. In her quiet times she would listen to gospel music and work on crossword puzzles. She is survived by her sons: Daniel (Wendy) of St. George, Michael (Judith) of Quispamsis, Robert (Bonnie) of Hampton and Barry (Brenda) of Saint John; daughter: Barb Dempster (Dave) of Quispamsis; sisters: Jill Kierstead (Carl), Mary Hogan, Myrna Henry (Alton); Cathy Baird (Dennis); brothers: Carl (Jessie), Peter (Faye) and Wayne (Donna), David (Sue) and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by husband, parents and brothers, Brian and George. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home , 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, May 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, May 7 at 10 am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
