Obituary of Marma Ina Carson
Our loving mother, Marmie, and wonderful Grammie passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on Sept 3rd, 2015 surrounded by her family. Mom has had tremendous support in these past months and is now reunited with Dad (Bill), with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Edmundston, NB on Oct 16th, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Karl and Carrie (Marsten) Linton. Mom was a graduate of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing. She was an active member of Saint David’s United Church, especially involved in the UCW, Membership Committee and of course the KD program. Mom loved spending time with her bridge group, birthday club, Riverside golf ladies and many dear friends. Mom was totally devoted to her family. She loved our family times together – whether at home or at Pinerock. She was so very proud of her 10 grandchildren! Mom and Dad resided in Rothesay, and were blessed to have 25 wonderful years at their cottage in Cambridge Narrows. They also enjoyed many years of travelling and time in Florida. Mom will always be remembered for her kind and gentle ways. She always thought of others first – not wanting to bother anyone right to the end. Mom loved to garden, read, and made the best apple pies ever! Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children Bev (Dave) Farnham of Quispamsis; Elaine (Dwight) Stewart of Truro; Sandy (Paul) McGuire of Summerside; Al (Lise Allain) Carson of Fredericton. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Stephanie and Christopher Farnham, Michelle (Danny) Hennessey, Jonathan and Michael Stewart, Connor, Gregory and Carrie McGuire, Nathaniel and Caroline Carson. She was pre-deceased by her husband Bill, and her sisters Gwen Edgar, Earlyne Bogener, Avis Dohaney, and brother Karl Linton. Our very special thanks to Dr. Lisa Sutherland, the Extramural team, and the staff and volunteers and Bobby`s Hospice. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A celebration of Marmie’s life will be held from Saint David’s United Church, 7 Gondola Point Rd., on Monday, September 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby`s Hospice, Saint David`s United Church Memorial Fund, or donor`s choice would be appreciated by the family.
