Obituary of Mary Valerie Raymond
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mary Valerie (Smith) Raymond wife of Ralph Andrew Raymond, which occurred on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 29, 1928 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Rita (Doucette) Smith. Mary was employed with Brook Bond as a tea packer. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for those who visited her. She is survived by one son, Andrew Raymond (Susan); two daughters, Cindy Weaver (Dwaine) and Mary Lynn Raymond (John) all of Saint John; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Sean, Jill, Gillian, Lynn, Erin and Jared; ten great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Hailey, Xander, Robbie, Khoal, Khaison, Paisley, Maliki, Morgan and Logan; sister-in-law, Joan Brenton (Doug); several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by one brother, Harold Smith; four sisters, Shirley Drew, Theresa Fulton Doris Connell and Helen Acorn. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peters Church on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
