Obituary of William Clayton Simonds
Simonds, William Clayton (Skipper) passed peacefully at home on February 16, 2014 with his family at his side. He was a son of the late William and Ruth (Henry) Simonds. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn of 45 years, and goddaughter Lynsi Cathline of Saint John. He is survived by his siblings Cheryl (Jack Shields) of Rothesay, Wayne (Lynne) of Public Landing, and Robert of Saint John, his two chosen grandchildren Emily and William of Rothesay and several special nieces and nephews, and many cousins, and his Aunt Maxine of the Laurentians. He was predeceased by his brother John Douglas, and sister-in-law Margaret Simonds of Montreal. Clayton was employed for 40 years at Canada post. Clayton enjoyed his love for travel, music, cross-country skiing, snow-mobiling, family gatherings and helping others. Arrangement are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Although there is no visiting, family and friends are invited to the church where he was a member of Glenview United Church, where the funeral service will be held on Saturday February 22, 2014 at 4PM. Reception will be held immediately following the service.
