Obituary of Gerald Douglas Whipple
The death of Gerald "Doug" Douglas Whipple, of Saint John, New Brunswick, beloved husband of Mary Whipple, occurred on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, on June 16, 1937 to the late Walter and Olive (McGrath) Whipple. Doug owned and operated Doug Whipple Courier service, and was employed with Vet’s Taxi Company for over 20 years. He had a passion for golfing, and most importantly loved and cherished his wife Mary, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally. Besides his wife, Doug is survived by his children, Grayden (Dee Dee) Whipple of Saint John; Jeff (Cheryl) Whipple, of Alberta; and Joy Whipple (Jim Knox), of Saint John; his brother, Raymond (Rose Marie) Whipple, of Saint John; sister, Lynn (Henry) Hebert, of Saint John; grandchildren, Krista (Scott) Nelson, Curtis Bourque, Amanda (Dwight) Raymond, Keith Whipple, Courtney Whipple, Corey Bourque, Nicholas Whipple, Catrina Bourque, and Heidi Sutton; great grandchildren, Chloe and Carter Nelson; Cooper Whipple, Paxton and Aubrey Raymond, and Zachary Sutton Kincade; and much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Ronald and Walter (Buddy) Whipple, his sisters, Betty Smith and Darlene in infancy, and infant daughter, Mary Ann. Although there will be no visitation, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM, from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
