Obituary of Edward Joseph McDonald
McDonald, Edward (Eddie) Joseph It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Joseph McDonald on August 19, 2014 while surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saint John on September 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Edward and Marion McDonald. For 35 years, Eddie was a dedicated employee of Brinks Canada and took great pride in his work. After retirement Eddie was able to explore new interests and had the time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. He touched many lives by sharing his hobbies including cooking, oil painting and photography. Music was always a part of Eddie’s life, especially the sounds of Elvis; and he fulfilled his lifelong dream to visit Graceland. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen (Adams); four children, Heather Gregg (Jim Legacy), Kathy (LeRoy Graham), David, and James (Susanne Landry); seven grandchildren Geoffrey (Emily), Kyle, Kaitlin, Matthew, Scott, Austin, Jenna; two sisters, Kathleen (O’Brien) and Margaret (Brenton) and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brothers William and Arthur; sister, Barbara. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Eddie’s life on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 am at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
