Obituary of Marilyn Jean Boyce
Marilyn Jean Boyce passed away on October 6, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 10, 1939 in Saint John she was a daughter of the late William and Jean (Humphrey) Dowd and wife of the late John Boyce. Mom was a special woman who put others needs in front of her own. She was a long standing member of St. Peter’s C.W.L. Surviving are her children Peter (Ann), John (Mary), Tim (Sandie), Will (Tracy), Ellen Boyce-Morris (Rob), all of Saint John; grandchildren, Allison, Nick, Jacqueline, Adam, Ashley, Josh, Joe, Jorel, Chris, Natalie, Garrett, Jonathan and Emily; great grandchildren, Zachary, Addison, Audrina, Jeremiah, Amelia, Violet and Wes; brothers, William Dowd (Joan), Bruce Dowd (Dianne) and Terry Dowd (Rosella); sisters, Maureen Keenan (Mike), Nancy Dowd (Rob), Cindy McKenna (Tom) and several nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by her daughter, Cathy Boyce, sister; Pat Patten; and great granddaughter, Emma Gracie. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Ernestine Rooney for being such a good friend to Marilyn. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon St., Saint John, NB on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at St. Bridget’s Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.
