Obituary of Douglas Joseph Doiron
With his family by his side, Douglas Doiron of Saint John went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 21, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 17, 1952, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Hermina (Doucette) Doiron. Doug was a faithful member of St. John’s Stone Church where he was active in Friday night recreation, Sunday night Bible study and the mental health recovery program where he was taught many life skills. In his younger years, Doug served for a short period of time in the Army Reserve and had also enjoyed playing pool in his leisure time. Doug will be sadly missed by his family, many friends and extended family at Cozy Manor. Doug is survived by his sisters, Jackie Richard, Aurore "Donna" Saunders, Blanche Maxwell (Kenneth) and Lilly Doiron; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Rose Boucher, Donna Monteith and Marion Underhill; brothers, Renaud, Guy, Elmer and Wilfred; special nephews, Jimmy Doiron, Troy Doiron and Michael Maxwell. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, November 24 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. John’s Stone Church, 87 Carleton Street, Saint John on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to MindCare NB or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
