Obituary of Marie Ethel Pineo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Marie Ethel Pineo who passed away December 28, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, three days shy of her 97th birthday. Born on December 31, 1918 in New Ross, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Walker) Leopold. She was a strong woman who took great pride in everything she did and devoted her life to taking care of her family. She enjoyed going on day trips and long drives in the country. She especially loved it when company came to visit and treasured the times spent with those she loved. Marie was known for her delicious cooking and always took great pleasure in making sure everyone had plenty to eat. Marie is survived by her children, Gary Pineo (Linda), Brian Pineo (Patricia), Anna Lindsay (Terry), James Pineo (Michele Wright) and Cheryl Gosson (Stephen) all of Saint John; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Muriel (Ron) Hughes, Sheffield Mills, Aurine Levy (Doug Arthur), Chester Basin; brothers, Merlin (Joyce), Greenhill, Hants County. Predeceased by husband, James; daughter, Judy; sisters, Bertha Wrighley, Alice Walker and Vivian Harvey; brothers, Murdock, Herman, Kempton, Kenneth, Francis "Jack" and Oren. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday December 31 at 12 PM. Interment will take place Fernhill Cemetery, at a later date. We would like to thank special friends Zita Melanson and Carol Winchester who she enjoyed spending time with and talking to everyday.
