Obituary of Ida May Hatt
It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Ida May (Gregory-Moore) Hatt on Friday, June 26th, 2015 at Loch Lomond Village. Born on March 16th, 1918 in Calais, Maine she was the daughter of the late Henry Lewis Gregory and Frances Helen (Christie) Gregory. At 97 she was a proud matriarch to 5 generations. She is survived by her children: Philip Moore (Sharon Sweet), Anne Dean (Gary), Dawn Carr (Jackie), Bev Wilkins (Peter); 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Ida was predeceased by two daughters, Sharon Joyce Moore and Frances Catherine Mason, her two brothers Lewis and William Gregory and one granddaughter Sharon Ann Dean. Ida spent her working career at Robin’s drugstore and Calp’s Department Store until it closed. After retirement she volunteered at the YMCA in the kitchen of the Childcare. Her hands were never still, either with knitting needles or a crochet hook in them. Arrangements are in the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Honouring Ida’s wishes there will be no visitation, a service celebrating her life will be held at the Loch Lomond Villa Chapel on Saturday, July 4th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation for Maple House would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be place at www.brenansfh.com. A special thank you to the staff of Maple House at Loch Lomond Village for their wonderful care during Nan-Nan’s time there.
