Obituary of Harry Ford Thompson
Harry Ford Thompson passed away May 2, 2014 in Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 20, 1928 he was a son of William and Georgie (nee Reid) Thompson. Harry loved watching and playing all types of sports, especially, golf, bowling, baseball and hockey. He enjoyed the times he would watch his grandchildren play different sports. He was an avid Red Sox and Toronto Maple Leaf Fan. Harry and his wife, Joan loved camping together at Thompsonville, where they met many friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and uncle, he was the love of Joanie’s life for 56 years. Surviving are his wife, Joan; children, Kim (Derek) Manuel, Saint John; Cindy (Mark) Dexter, Saint John; Kelly (Barney) Bright, Saint John; grandchildren, Todd, Amanda, Jamie, Jeffery, Taylor and Ashley; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Robson; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harry was predeceased by his brothers, Edison, Stanley and Walter; sister, Audrey and infant son James. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday May 6 from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel, on Wednesday, May 7 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, donations made to a charity of their choice would be appreciated by the family.
