Obituary of John Edward Burke

Surrounded by his family, John Burke passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born May 23, 1950 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Theresa Mary (Burke) and Joseph Vincent Bourque. John worked as an Engineer for Horizon Health at the Saint John Regional Hospital until his retirement in 2014. He played guitar in his spare time, and enjoyed painting, traveling, and he also had his poetry published. John will be missed by his partner, Marietta Synette; son, Joel Burke (JoAnne); grandchildren: Alisha Robichaud, Janaya Burke, and Jayden Burke; his best friend, David Jones; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Tarja Burke; and his sister, Alice Girouard. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
