Obituary of Howard G. Robinson
The unexpected passing of Howie Robinson occurred on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 19, 1949 in Saint John, he was a son of Frank E. Robinson and the late Lillian C. (Alward) Robinson. Howie enjoyed his work as a Fitness Instructor at the YMCA. In his younger years, he was a member of 527 Simonds Air Cadet Squadron, where he played the trumpet. When he wasn’t working, he could usually be found outdoors biking on the trails at Rockwood Park, fishing with his father at Wood Lake in St. Martin’s, or doing various other outdoor activities. He loved his trips with his father to Ireland, Scotland, and Alaska, and enjoyed photography and family get-togethers. In addition to his father, Frank of Saint John, Howie is survived by his three sons: Colin (April) of Calgary, and Troy and Adam of Ottawa; grandchildren: Geoffrey Robinson of Calgary and Celestine Mayhew of Saint John; sister, Judy Breau (Olivier) of Oromocto; step-sisters: Linda Sutton of Quispamsis and Barbara Kliffer of Saint John; step-brother, Terry Gould (Beth) of Scarborough; niece, Kerri Watson of Hampton; and nephew, Stephen Watson of Saint John. Besides his mother, Lillian, he was predeceased by his brother, Stephen. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2 pm in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to YMCA would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
