Obituary of Victor James Ricker
Victor Ricker of Saint John passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 31, 2014. Born on January 22, 1915, he was the son of the late Abraham and Ella (Rogers) Ricker. Victor was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne (Scott) Ricker; his children, Lewis Ricker (Barb) of Ontario, Louise White (Gerald) of Nova Scotia and Gary Ricker (Trudy) of New Brunswick; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Victor was also predeceased by his sister, Celia Dion and half brother, Walter Scott. Victor was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Victor served in WWII and was a proud member of the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s Division). He retired after 36 years from the Atlantic Sugar Refinery in 1980. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, flying kites, canoeing, camping and reading. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Extramural or a charity of the donor’s choice.
