Obituary of Brian Daniel Rooney
The death of Brian Rooney of the Kingston Peninsula, husband of the late Lorraine (Boone) Rooney, the love of his life, occurred suddenly on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at his home. Born in Saint John on March 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Daniel and Edith (Spellar-O’Brien) Rooney. Prior to his retirement, Brian was employed with NBTel as a technician. He loved the beauty of the outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening and fishing. Brian was passionate about music and loved playing the guitar. He was skilled at drawing and enjoyed spending his time woodworking. Brian also enjoyed a good game of SPCA bingo. He will be sadly missed. Brian is survived by his daughter, Colleen Rooney (Daniel Anstis) of Fredericton; son, Wade Warren (Marilyn) of Evandale; step-daughter, Loretta Boyle (Brian) of Saint John; sisters, Sarah Landry (Michael) of Bathurst and Ernestine Rooney of Saint John; grandchildren, Colin, Dylan, Kurtis, Karly (Stephen), Alex and Kyle; great-grandson, Jackson; special friend, Gemma; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, December 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street, Saint John on Friday, December 19, 2014, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to your local SPCA.
