Obituary of Jean C. Buchanan
Surrounded by her family the death of Jean Buchanan, wife of George Buchanan occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. She was born on December 18, 1926 in Saint John to the late William and Elizabeth (Maillett) Forrester. Jean worked for many at the NB Department of Health as an administrative assistant. She was an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and the WMS. Jean was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star #34 and the Brookville United Church UCW. She is survived by George her husband of over 35 years; her children: David Griffen of Saint John, Ruth Vincent (Barry) of Saint John, George (Dianne) of Saint John, Robert of Rothesay, Ronald of Halifax, and Linda Dempster (Ronnie) of Saint John and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents and sister, Marion McGuire. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Forest Hill Baptist Church, 36 Mountain Road on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
