Obituary of Edith Jean Sullivan
Surrounded by her family, the death of Edith Sullivan of Saint John, wife of the late Herbert Sullivan occurred peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on March 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Garnett) Biddescombe. Prior to her retirement, Edith was employed as an operating room assistant. She enjoyed reading and was skilled at drawing. Her gentle and kind ways will always be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Edith is survived by her sons, Karl (Marilyn) of Bloomfield and Eric (Lanie Hoy) of Saint John; granddaughters, Magan and Carlynn; sister-in-law, Peggy Sullivan; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Marjorie Haggerty and Alice Urquhart; sister-in-law, Eleanor Stewart and brothers-in-law, Ralph Haggerty, Roy Urquhart and Ken Sullivan. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
