Obituary of Margaret "Maggie" Roy
The death of Margaret Roy, beloved wife of the late Ronald "Butch" Roy occurred on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bathurst on April 25, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Guitard) Jones. For several years, Maggie was employed at Crosby Molasses and decided to leave the company once her children came along. She loved listening to country music and also enjoyed fishing, knitting, sewing and crocheting. Maggie is survived by her sons, Raymond Scott Roy of the Yukon and John "Mike" Roy (Tabatha) of Saint John; siblings, William Jones (Freda) of BC, Lloyd Jones (Nettie) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Earl Jones Jr. (Anne) of Lakewood, Ellen Marginson of Rothesay, Frank "Wayne" Jones of Saint John and Robert Jones (Melda) of ON; grandchildren, Michelle, Kyli, Brighanna, Jasmine, Summer and Leo; great-grandson, Cohen; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother-in-law, Bob Marginson. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, September 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Atlantic).
