Obituary of Helen Jean Crawford
With sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Helen Crawford, loving wife of 60 years to Donald J. Crawford, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 24, 2014. Born June 17, 1935, she was a daughter of the late August and Elizabeth (Ogden) Nilsson. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Mary Mason and brothers Carl and Martin. Helen is survived by her sister Dorothy Ferris of Saint John and brother Hans of Port Elgin, Ontario; sister-in-law Patsy (Bradley) Nilsson of Stratford, Ontario; sons Thomas (Jean) of Okotoks, Alberta; Wayne (Heather) of Rothesay, Murray (Kimberly) of Darlings Island, Joseph (Donna) of Quispamsis, John (Carolyn) of Saint John; daughters Donna Little (Mike McGrath) of Quispamsis, Kathleen Kokotailo of Saint John, Christina Snow (Lloyd Calvert) of Hampton, Patricia McKenney (Scott) of Tampa, Florida; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John with visitation on Tuesday, May 27, from 1-4 and 6-8 pm in St. Paul’s Anglican Church Hall in Rothesay. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
