Obituary of Raymond Percy Slattery
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the death of Raymond P. Slattery that occurred on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on December 13, 1928, he was the son of the late Percy and Florence (Moore) Slattery. For many years, he was involved in the Road Construction Business and he was the President of Metro Construction and several other Local businesses. He was a past member of the New Brunswick Road Builder’s Association and the Saint John Construction Association. He is survived by Marguerite (Ryan) Slattery, his children Donna Evans, Rothesay, Cathy (Fred) Spencer, Rothesay, Jo-Ann (Jim) Smith, Rothesay, Colleen (David) Babineau, Quispamsis, Kevin, Grand Bay, and John, New York, his brother Gordon (Helen) Slattery, grandchildren Amanda Fillmore, Anthony Smith, Katie Bell, Jessica Spencer-McCrory, Sarah Spencer, Megan Evans, Michael Babineau and Nicole Babineau, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceasesd by brother Bernard and Francis. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Following cremation the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, Loch Lomond Road. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Rocmaura Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
