Obituary of Raymond K. Johnston
JOHNSTON, RAYMOND K. … The death of Raymond K. Johnston, formerly of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB, husband of the late Minnie May (Taylor) Johnston, occurred on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Saint John on November 25, 1914, he was the son of the late Samuel Walter and Mary Ellen (Calvin) Johnston. Raymond had been employed with the CPR for many years before his retirement and was co-owner of S.W. Johnston and Sons Contracting with his late brother, Reginald. He was a member of the Masonic Hibernia Lodge the Luxor Shriner’s and Portland United Church. He is survived by his niece, Karen Johnston, his “adopted niece”, Maureen Hughes, both of Saint John and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Alan Gordon Johnston and his brother Reginald Johnston. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 1:00 pm. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Kidney Foundation, the Shriner’s Hospital or the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated. The Masonic Lodge will hold a tribute service on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
