Obituary of Vera Margaret Taylor
The death of Peggy Taylor , wife of the late Mark Taylor of Smythe Street, Saint John occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. She was born in Henley on Thames, England on October 8, 1921 to the late Frederick and Florence (Sanders) Brakspear. Peggy was a veteran of World War II serving in the Royal Air Force. She is member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch #53 of the Royal Canadian Legion. and the War Brides Association. After the war, Peggy devoted her time to her family, she was a loving mother and grandmother. In her spare time, she was an avid dart player. Peggy is survived by her seven children: Anthony "Tony" (Anne) Brakspear of Oslo, Norway, James (Molly) Taylor, Richard (Ginette) Taylor, Michael (Lorraine) Taylor, Terri (the late Melvin) Clark, Lynn Taylor, and Mark Taylor all of Saint John, NB; nephew, John Brakspear of England and 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 11:30 AM. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held Thursday during visitation at 7 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery’s Field of Honour. A reception will be held at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road following the interment. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
