Obituary of Alfretta M. Scott
The death of Alfretta “Allie” Margaret Scott of Rothesay, wife of J.W. “Glenn” Scott, occurred peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at her residence. Born in Maces Bay, NB she was the daughter of the late Charles N. and Beatrice (Small) Wilson. After attending McGill University, Allie was a lifelong resident of Saint John. She was active in community affairs and for many years was a director of the Charles N. Wilson Charitable Foundation, director of the Saint John Terminals Ltd. and the Saint John Tugboat Company Ltd. In her later years, Allie enjoyed traveling and gardening. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Besides her loving husband of 58 years, she is survived by one son, Graeme Scott (Barbara) of Saint John, one daughter, Gail Scott Camalier Chris) of Alexandria, VA, one brother, C. C. “Bud” Wilson (Lorna) of Saint John, sister-in-law, Carol Wilson of Saint John, two granddaughters, Victoria “Tori” and Elizabeth “Libby” Scott, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Constance Wilson and one brother, Keith Wilson. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held from St. John the Baptist (Mission Church) & St. Clements, 815 Millidge Avenue, Saint John on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. In recognition of Allie’s lifelong love of animals, remembrances to the Animal Rescue League or the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
