Obituary of Janet Charlotta Wood
The death of Janet Charlotta Wood, wife of George H. Wood, occurred on January 22, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Percy and Violet May (Bright) Richards. She was a life-long member of the Church of St. John Baptist & St. Clements (Mission Church). She was employed for many years with Sears Canada Ltd. and enjoyed gardening and sewing. Besides her husband she is survived by her sons; Randy G. (Shelley), Christopher L. (Leigh Ann), Kenneth C., her daughter Julie R. Holmes (Tim), all of Saint John, brothers; Percy (Joyce) of Saint John, Vincent (Lillian) of Saint John, William (Phyllis) of South Ville, NS, Raymond (Barbara) of Weymouth, NS, Peter (Linda) of Weymouth, NS, James (Darlene) of Saint John, Stanley Robarts (Maureen) South Ville, NS, sisters; Hilda Turvey (William) of Halifax, NS, Helen McKinney of Saint John, Patricia Grant (Walter) of Sydney, NS, Evelyn Stevens of Saint John, Diane Jones (Charles) of St. Louis, grandchildren; Seth, Anthony, Kiesha, Stefan, Andrew, Cree-Anne, Jordan, Devon, T. J., Christopher and Adam, great-grandchildren; Kayla and Haley and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her sister Margaret ‘Peggy’ predeceased her. Resting at the Church of St. John Baptist & St. Clements (Mission Church), 815 Millidge Av, with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at 11:00 am, from the Church of St. John Baptist & St. Clements (Mission Church). Following cremation at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home (634-7424) the interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
