Obituary of Murray Fenwick Baxter
Loving husband of Myrtle D. (Crawford) (Baxter) Baxter, passed away at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB, on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Born at Baxter’s Corner on November 13, 1918, he was the son of Edward and Ella (Hosford) Baxter. A WWII Veteran, serving with the Provost Corp. Murray retired as Superintendent of Sanitation with the City of Saint John. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Loch Lomond, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #64 and the Knights of Pythias #1. In addition to his wife, Myrtle, he is survived by his three daughters, Sandra Hart (Bill) of Norton, NB and their children: Lynne Roy (Gerry), Krista Chamberlain (Bob), Jamie Hart (Jennifer); Nancy Coleman (Bill) of Hampton, NB and their children, Scott Coleman (Tammy Vincent), Brent Coleman (Tara), Sheryl Moore (Tim); Colleen Sproul (John) of Rothesay, NB and their children: Jill Daigle (Paul), Tim Sproul (Carrie Totten) and one son, Paul Baxter (Christine) of Baxter’s Corner and their daughter, Chelsea, and 20 great grandchildren. Murray is also survived by three, stepdaughters: Lorraine Roberts (Doug), Anna Donovan (Art), Louise Lackie (late Bruce); six stepsons: Karl Baxter (Diane), Bryan Baxter, (Betty), Ronnie Baxter (Terry), Donnie Baxter (Patsy), Randy Baxter (Wendy), Jamie Reynolds (Janice) and 23 step grandchildren and 26 step great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his first wife, Edith Mary “Diddy” (McIntyre) and sisters; Margaret Moore and Ella Mae Lackie and brothers; Raymond, Harry, George and Hazen. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place from Saint James Anglican Church, Lakewood, 1988 Loch Lomond Road on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 1 pm. Interment to take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Rocmaura Foundation, All Saints Anglican Church, Loch Lomond or Saint James Anglican Church, Lakewood.
