Obituary of Alvin Fred Flewelling
FLEWELLING, ALVIN F.- The death of Alvin Fred Flewelling, formerly of Kennebecasis Drive, Saint John, husband of the late Irene M (Sheppard) Flewelling, occurred on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John. Born in Pierston, Kings Co., New Brunswick on February 18, 1912, he was the son of the late Fred A. and V. Pearl (Burgess) Flewelling. Mr. Flewelling was a veteran of World War II, serving with the NB Rangers from 1939-1945 in Canada, Labrador, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany and was self employed Building Contractor for many years before his retirement. He is survived by one son, Michael Flewelling (Ann) of Saint John, one daughter, Pamela Lynn Todd (Stephen) of Auckland, New Zealand, one brother, Burton Flewelling of Saint John, two granddaughters, Lisa Flewelling and Kimberly Flewelling, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Anita Flewelling, one brother, Ernest Flewelling and three sisters, Marion O’Hare, Leola Bond and Roberta Leaman. By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Lancaster United Baptist Church, Church Street, Saint John, on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
