Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Sewell
Sewell, Dorothy Elizabeth – The death of Dorothy Sewell of Saint John, NB, wife of the late, Samuel J. Sewell, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Saint John, NB she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Gladys (Baker) Hinam. Dorothy served as a private with the C.W.A.C. overseas during World War II. Dorothy was an avid bowler and bingo player. Survived by her daughter, Lorraine Lee (Fred White) of Saint John, her grandson, Allan Lee of Saint John, one great-granddaughter, Ashley Lee and her sister, Alice Murray of Mississauge, ON. Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband, Constable Benedict Lee, sisters; Ruth Roberts, Mae and her brothers; Leonard, Fred, Leslie, Tom, Bill and Hubert. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service on Friday evening at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from Brenan’s Chapel at 10:00 am. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
