Obituary of Roy G. Stevens
The death of Roy G. Stevens of Saint John, NB, husband of the late, Rita (Flynn) Stevens, occurred at his residence on July 29, 2007. Born in Saint John on June 27, 1930, he was a son of the late Earnest and Irene (Buckley) Stevens. He was employed for Red Rose Tea as a Truck Driver for many years before his retirement. Roy was a well known local musician in Saint John and was a member of the Local Musicians Association, where he played the fiddle for dances for many years. Survived by his sons, John “Gary” (Bonny), William “Billy” (Darlene), Kevin, Michael and Roy “Bowser” Stevens, his daughters; Cindy Siddal and Tammy Stevens (Kevin), his brothers; Ted and Greg Stevens, his sisters; Carol Valley and Sonia Pye, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy Stevens, his sister, Joan Pye and his brothers; Harold and Donald Stevens. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2 … 4 and 7 … 9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 from Brenan’s Chapel at 11:00 am. Interment to take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation of New Brunswick.
