Obituary of Roy Frederick Carr
Carr, Roy Frederick – After a courageous battle with Cancer, Roy Carr of Victoria Street, Saint John, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 18, 2007. He was born in Saint John, on May 20, 1927 to the late John and Alice (Hall) Carr. Roy was employed with Saint John Shipbuilding Company Local #3 until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Roy loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He is survived by three sons: Gerald (Terry-Lee) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Terry (Debbie) and Scott both of Saint John; three daughters: Judy Carr, Vicky (Rick) Gill and Grace Gillette all of Saint John; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased his wife, Margaret (McKinnon) Carr; one son: John Carr; two brothers: Willard and John and two sisters: Bertha Morell and Alice Taylor. Roy was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 2:15 pm from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
