Obituary of Charles John Ahern
AHERN, CHARLES J.”CHICK”- The death of Charles John “Chick” Ahern of Rothesay, NB, husband of Lorette (LeBlanc) Ahern, occurred on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bathurst, NB on May 28, 1930, he was the son of the late Michael and Olivia (Doherty) Ahern. Mr. Ahern owned and operated Valley Mill Supply for many years before his retirement. He was a member of Riverside Golf and Country Club, the Knights of Columbus, Probus Club and was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Saint John. Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Joseph Ahern (Norma) of Moncton and Bernard Ahern (Corinne) of Olean, NY, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Edward Ahern and two sisters, Irene Bourgeois (Euclide) and Mary LeBlanc (Raymond). By request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place at Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB at a later date. Remembrances to the Parkinson Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
