Obituary of Cecila Mary Bastarache
The death of Cecila Bastarache (Roy-King) of Campobello Lodge Nursing Home, Welshpool, NB, wife of the late Maxime Bastarache, formerly of Saint John, NB, occurred on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB. Born in Minto, NB on May 24, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Amedee and Judith (Maillet) King. Cecila resided in Saint John for most of her life and lived in Gardiner, MA, USA for a short time. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish Church in Saint John and was employed at many jobs, loved to work hard, travel and had a strong spirit for life. Survived by her son, Larry, with whom she lived in Saint John; her daughter Carol (Bruce) Mierzejewski of Gardiner MA; one brother, Emile of Ontario; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Cecilia was predeceased by five brothers: Amos, Mike, James, William and Ernest; and two sisters: Annie and Alice. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. There will not be any visiting at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Rosary Church in Minto, NB on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 11 am. Interment will be in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Hardwood Ridge, NB. Remembrances may be made to the Campobello Lodge Nursing Home or any charity of choice.
