Obituary of Harley B. Fitzherbert
The death of Harley Barry Fitzherbert of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Bernadette ( Doiron ) Fitzherbert, occurred on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in River de Chute, NB, on July 24, 1935, he was a son of the late Freeman and Addie (MacDougall) Fitzherbert. Harley was a foreman for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Lodge 73 and worked at various local mills and the Irving Oil Refinery. He was a life long member of the R.A.O.B., an avid hunter and angler, and loved to spend time with his dogs Gizmo and Grizzly. He is survived by one daughter, Colleen (Burton) Donahue of Saint John; two sons, Tony (Carol) of Oromocto and Jerome of BC; as well as four beautiful granddaughters, Tara, Meaghan, Kelly and Mallory. He is also survived by two sisters, Alta (Eddie) Rattery of Maine and Betty (Alfred) Coston of Bairdsville, NB; one brother, Clarence (Edna) of Truro, NS; special nephew Earl Waugh (Debby Whalen), sister-in-law Opal, several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by four sisters, Grace, Ivy, Nellie and Marjorie; three brothers, Jonas, Percy and Ralph. In honour of Harley’s request there will be no visiting or service. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424).
