Obituary of Edith Mary Keary
Keary, Edith Mary - Edith Mary Keary, 93, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday February 2, 2008. She was the wife of the late James Robert Keary. Edith was born in Saint John, NB in 1914, a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Herbert) Golding Small. She was a homemaker and an employee of Centrecare until she retired in 1979. Her greatest love and joy was all her family. She is survived by five daughters: Patricia Keary (Roger Bisson) of Cornwall, ON; Dorothy Kenny (Leonce) of Pokemouche, NB; Constance “Connie” Graham (Wayne) of Fredericton, NB; Mary Keary of Fredericton NB (Yvon St. Coeur of Six Roads NB): Louella Doyle (John J) of Saint John, NB; and two sons Charles Keary (Alvetta) of Saint John NB and Robert Keary (Gloria) of Saint John, NB; two sisters, Helen Sewell of Sarnia, ON; and Margaret Duke of Fredericton, NB; two sister-in-laws, Rhoda Rivers of Pokemouche NB and Doris Small of Moncton, NB; 22 grand children and 33 great-grand children; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by one son Clarence Keary; four brothers, Herbert Golding Small, Donald Golding Small, Leo Rivers and Gerald Rivers. Visitations at the Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John NB 634-7424 on Monday, February 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 12:05 pm. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
