Obituary of Florence Alda Giggey
Giggey, Florence Alda …Florence Alda Giggey of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Harry Giggey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born on April 2, 1909 in St. Stephen, NB, a daughter of the late George B. and Jennie (Hastey) Moore. “Flossie” enjoyed her summers at her cottage on Kennebecasis Island socializing and playing 45’s with her friends and family. Survived by her daughter, Nancy Ross and her son, Brian (Marilyn) Giggey, both of Saint John; one sister, Jean Wetherbee of Bangor, ME; a son-in-law, Harold Shanks; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Giggey; a sister-in-law, Alice Moore; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by a daughter, Norma Shanks; a son, Paul Giggey; son-in-law, John Ross; daughter-in-law, Anne Giggey; two brothers, Raymond and Eldon Moore and a sister, Josephine Savage. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 1 pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home or Hospice of Greater Saint John would be appreciated.
