Obituary of Illa Maxine McEachern
The death of Illa Maxine McEachern of Saint John, wife of the late John “Jack” McEachern, occurred on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Tracy, NB on March 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Myrtle (Burnett) Harris. Illa was employed at New System Laundry for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and the Millidgeville Senior Citizen’s Club. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, kittens and spending time with her family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Arsenault (Rheal) of Quispamsis, one son, William McEachern (Moyra) of Ontario, daughter-in-law, Dorothy McEachern of Kingston, ON, one sister, Althea Fisher (George) of Guelph, ON, sister-in-law, Lillian Harris of Fredericton Junction, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Jack and brothers, Alton and Fred Harris. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or Main Street Baptist Church would be appreciated.
