Obituary of Dawn P. Rogers
Dawn Patricia (Barry) Rogers, wife of Bernard Rogers, passed away peacefully with her family around her at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, following a brief illness. She was born on April 5, 1931, in Saint John, NB to the late James Arthur (“Art”) and Carmela (Callaghan) Barry. She was employed with NBTel as a Switchboard Operator until her retirement in 1993. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Parish and NB Telephone Pioneers. Her greatest delight was looking after her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a gift of lively spirit, a love of laughter, and was loved dearly by those she touched. Besides her husband, she is survived by sons, Barry (Jennifer), of Saint John; and Robert (Theresa) of Saint John; daughters, Patricia Hanlon (Peter) of Saint John, Vivian Chaisson (Patrick) of Quispamsis; her beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Robert, Claire, Sarabeth, Anna, Alexis, Ava, and Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Gerard Barry, and granddaughter, Brooke Chaisson. The Family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the Doctors and caring nurses of the Saint John Regional Hospital and a special thanks to all those in Palliative Care. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, June 21st , from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 22nd, 2007 from St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 50 Clarendon Street, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetary. For those who wish, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Jeuvenile Diabetes Foundation of Canada, or Hospice Saint John would be appreciated.
