Obituary of David O. Phillips
Phillips, David O. … Unexpectedly the death of David Owen Phillips, age 75, of Saint John, NB, occurred on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 11, 1932 he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Lynch) Phillips. David was employed with the City of Saint John in the Water and Sewerage Department until his retirement. He is survived by companion Shirley Robinson, four sons, Ricky (Katherine) of Winnipeg, Randy (Kristyn), Terry both of Saint John, Todd (Stacey) of Riverview; one daughter Pam Merzetti (Brian Sutherland) of Quispamsis; three brothers Donald (Edith), Richard (Joyce) both of Saint John, Eugene (Glenda) of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Jordon, Brooke, Courtney, Cory, Kyle, Cole, Olivia and Angela, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 17, 2007 from Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 12 Noon. Following cremation interment will take place at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
