Obituary of Kathryn Meghan Caissie
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of Meghan Caissie (O’Dell), beloved wife of Adam Caissie which occurred on February 7th, 2008 in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. Meghan was born on June 19, 1980 in Saint John, NB, to Michael and Dianne (Daley) O'Dell. She attended school in West Saint John and graduated from Saint John High School in 1998. She was awarded her Bachelor of Education degree in 2003 from UNB Fredericton. She was married to Adam Caissie her soul mate since the eleventh grade. When Adam began his duty with the RCMP detachment in Cole Harbour, Meghan began teaching at Shannon Park School. It became apparent to all that she was a teacher who loved her students as her own. Fun loving, bright, compassionate, vivacious, affectionate, these same qualities her family treasured in her allowed her to be an extraordinary teacher recognized by pupils, parents and co-workers. Meghan left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Meghan is now forever young and beautiful and eternally loved by her family who mourn her passing and give thanks for her brief life. Meghan leaves her great love, friend and husband Adam, her parents Michael and Dianne (Daley) O'Dell, her brothers and sisters, Shannon (Paul) Boucher, Liam (Lyndsay) O'Dell, Corey (Robbi-Leigh) O'Dell, and Alyson (Jason) Gray, her nieces Maria Boucher (God-daughter), Madison Gray and her nephew Matthew Boucher. Her maternal grandmother Melina Daley and special grandparent Kaye Holland, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Meghan was loved and will be missed by Adam's parents Debbie and Don Caissie, their children Don (Kelley) Caissie, Marlene (Jason) Dewar and their son Liam as well as Adam's grandmother Dorothy McEwan. Meghan treasured the company of her dog, Buttercup. Meghan's brother, Kirk who died tragically in 1978 will welcome her as she enters into the joy of heaven. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, Saint John on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:00 am. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
